More Progress

A brief round-up of the last couple of weeks' work.
9 October
Mark visited the CVR on this date and did some work on both machines. He removed the light box from the top of the Permaquip cab so that a temporary repair could be made to the area of corroded metal.
Further engine parts were fixed inside the Matisa meaning 90% of it is now complete. Wiring into the new distribution board under the control panel was also nearly finished.
15 October
Another productive day at the CVR today - the 3 of us putting in more hard graft on both machines! Lovely sunny day for it, and warm too - like summer again!
Vince tidied up the front cab of the Permaquip whilst myself and Mark fitted the last of the windows to the Matisa. (Well - not strictly the "last" but it does mean that the machine is now watertight for the winter.) We also applied some more primer to the areas that had been rubbed down a fortnight ago.
We had a good tidy up inside the Matisa and threw out a lot of junk that we wouldn't need any more such as the old paint-stained window seals and the tatty flooring.
We managed to get a much larger tarpaulin on eBay recently so we wrapped up the Permaquip today which should keep it dry over the winter. I think we will leave this under cover now until the spring and concentrate on the Matisa on any future work visits this year - hopefully we will get a few more trips in before Christmas. The days are obviously getting shorter but we do have a temporary work light in the Matisa now to enable slightly longer working hours. I believe Mark may also make another visit next week at some point as he has some time off work... engine and electrics being the focus of his attention.
