Matisa arrives at Longhoughton!

30 March 2007 - thanks to Ben Williams for this article

The Matisa arrived safely in Northumberland during mid-March...

Following on from our previous article, the Matisa 68030 arrived at Longhoughton on March 14th to join our other machine.

arrival into the yard

trailer detached

ready for unloading onto the arrival track panel

a new home - but a temporary location!

another view with the Permaquip visible behind...

Unfortunately one of the front windows was damaged en-route (thought to have been blown out by the wind) but Dave and co. have since made a temporary repair on this and the side window openings to keep the rain out.

Next the machine will be shunted across to the same siding as the Permaquip (quite an involved operation!) so that work can begin... watch this space!

Thanks to Kay Seymour-Walker & Tom Spence for the photos.

The shunt mentioned above has taken place, the cab has been emptied of spares, etc., and various small pieces of work have been undertaken.
