Following a tip off, Ben went to Romford OTPD on 30 September to inspect the former stillage that belongs to HCT022.
We are grateful to a recently retired Network Rail employee who responded to our query of what had happened to the stillage – it transpired that the one belonging to HCT022 remained on site at Romford Depot from its days in this region many years ago! With thanks to the same former Romford worker it has been dismantled it in readiness for collection and shipping up to Longhoughton to rejoin the machine.
Once the stillage arrives at Longhoughton it will be cleaned, given a full safety check and will then be repainted.
